2023 Seattle Black Film Festival Write-up
Vivian, Aaron, Asali, and Elmer on stage during talkback.
Our 40-minute rough cut preview was well received by the near-capacity crowd at the opening night of the 2023 Seattle Black Film Festival on April 22 at the historic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute. Along with Aaron Dixon, Elmer Dixon, and Asali Dickson, who participated in a post-screening talkback moderated by Vivian Phillips, other comrades in attendance included Na'eem Shareef, Vanetta Molson, Mark Cook, Trolice Flavors, Leonard Dawson, Jake Fiddler, and many community members that grew up and benefitted from the Seattle chapter's survival programs.

One exciting partnership emerging from the screening is with the BIPOC Creative Association in Vancouver. The Association has invited Elmer Dixon and our crew to Vancouver on July 19, 2023, where Elmer will do a book signing and talk about his new book, Die Standing, and we will screen the rough-cut preview.
A special thanks to photographer Susan Fried for sharing these wonderful photos from the screening.
